SCB Medical College provides degree courses for MBBS, MD, MS, DM, MCh, and diploma courses. Its intake for MBBS courses is 250 students per year, 229 trainees for postgraduate and 42 trainees for super-specialty courses. A Dental Wing in the college campus imparts BDS (63 students per year) & MDS (27 trainees per year) degrees under Utkal University. At present, this college extends facilities for postgraduate training in all the 22 broad specialty & 11 super specialty departments.
The college offers the four-and-a-half-year M.B.B.S. course with a one-year compulsory rotating internship. There are 250 seats, which are filled through a single-window all India medical test, known as NEET-UG. Out of the 250 seats, 85% of admissions are done through state quota and 15% through NEET counseling at the national level.
The college offers 229 seats in 22 postgraduate courses. Admission is through the all India NEET-PG examination. Fifty percent seats are reserved for the State candidates and 50% is through the NEET counselling at the national level.
The college offers 42 seats in 11 super specialty courses. Admission is through the all India NEET-super specialty examination.
National programs like family Welfare Training in the Regional Family Welfare Training Centre, Post Partum Programme in the department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, ICMR Programme, IGNOU study center are available in the institute.
